Overview

This event has been cancelled. Instead we will be presenting an exciting and diverse array of brand new commissions, all available on our website for free from September. Read more details here.

Kate Tempest is a ground-breaking spoken word performer, poet, recording artist, novelist and playwright.

She was named a Next Generation Poet by the Poetry Book Society, a once-a-decade accolade, won the Ted Hughes Award for Brand New Ancients, and her debut novel The Bricks That Built The Houses was a Sunday Times bestseller. Kate’s albums Everybody Down and Let Them Eat Chaos were both nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, and she was nominated as Best Female Solo Performer at the 2018 Brit Awards.

Kate will be supported by co-founder of Neu! Reekie!, Michael Pedersen. Michael is a prize-winning Scottish poet and who has read all over earth. He has two acclaimed collections; won both the Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship and The John Mather’s Trust Rising Star of Literature Award. He was a finalist in the Writer of the Year category of the Herald Scottish Culture Awards and a Canongate Future 40. With fans that include Irvine Welsh and Charlotte Church, his recent book, Oyster, was a collaboration with Frightened Rabbit’s Scott Hutchison.

Please note this is a spoken word performance.
