Aerial Festival presents Caught by the River aboard a Lake Windermere steamer.

We’re delighted to welcome our friends Caught By The River to Aerial, for a unique afternoon aboard a classic Windermere steamer on the largest natural lake in England. Featuring acclaimed authors Helen Mort and Amy Liptrot, plus an acoustic set by the wonderful Jack Cooper, all hosted by Roy Wilkinson.

Helen Mort has published two poetry collections, won the Fenton Aldeburgh Prize, and her novel Black Car Burning was published in 2019. She is also the author of Lake District Trail Running. In Amy Liptrot’s acclaimed debut novel Outrun, she wrote about returning to her home island of Orkney. Amy is also an avid wild swimmer. Since the demise of Jack Cooper’s much loved former band, Ultimate Painting, in 2018, he’s gone on to create the most ambitious and adventurous music of his career with Modern Nature and their 2019 debut album How To Live – a wild mix of German motorik, English folk and keening spiritual jazz. Roy Wilkinson’s Do It For Your Mum is a brilliant memoir about family and managing the band British Sea Power, who include his younger brothers Jan and Hamilton. Roy will talk about growing up in the Lakes and the mighty Harry Griffin, who wrote the Lakeland Diary for The Guardian for over 50 years.

Join us on Lake Windermere for a wonderful afternoon of sounds and words with Caught By The River.

Limited tickets available, book early to avoid disappointment.
